McKenna and Shea

Two families creating a shared home space to raise their children together, made possible by a fully managed ADU process.

Estate 800

What started as a joke turned into something life-changing. When we first saw the property’s huge backyard, we laughed and said, “Oh, we’re going to build a house back here.” But that joke quickly became a real conversation about building an ADU and raising our families together.

A real conversation about building an ADU and raising our families together.

We’re sisters — twins — and we’ve always been incredibly close. Being able to live on the same lot, share a yard, and raise our kids together just feels natural to us. It’s something people always dream about, but we’re actually getting to do it.

You need to talk to Adam. They’ll take care of everything.

Both Amy and I are real estate agents, and someone in our office told us, You need to talk to Adam. They’ll take care of everything. They were right. When Adam came out, he walked us through what was possible and what the costs would look like. The thing that truly sold us was knowing he would do everything for us.

We didn’t really have to do anything other than talk to them.

We honestly don’t believe this would have happened without Backyard Estates. We didn’t really have to do anything other than talk to them. They handled the permitting, coordination, scheduling — all the hard parts that would have stopped us completely. It just never would have happened without them.

We’re honestly just truly blessed to have this opportunity.

Now, with every step of the project, our excitement grows. We’re honestly just truly blessed to have this opportunity.

It’s like a dream come true, really.

Having one shared space where our kids can grow up together, where we can support each other and make memories — it’s pretty incredible.

It’s like a dream come true, really.
