My name is Jason, and the main reason we decided to build an ADU was for our parents. As they get older, we wanted them close by so we could help take care of them while still giving them their own comfortable space.
We figured, Why not just go take a look? That visit changed everything.
For a long time, we talked about building an ADU, but it always felt like a huge project and a major investment. We kept putting it off until Backyard Estates hosted an open house nearby. We figured, Why not just go take a look?
That visit changed everything.
They were legitimate, honest, and their work was high quality.
One of my friends, who has experience in architecture and construction, came with me and was impressed by the quality. After visiting multiple open houses, we all came away with the same impression: They were legitimate, honest, and their work was high quality.
They laid everything out—how much it would cost, how the process would work, and ways to avoid unnecessary expenses.
One of my biggest concerns was our property itself. Because we're close to Foothill Boulevard, I knew there were likely a lot of rocks underground, and I worried about unexpected costs and complications. When we sat down with Adam and Tom, they addressed those concerns directly. They laid everything out—how much it would cost, how the process would work, and ways to avoid unnecessary expenses.
That transparency gave me confidence. It gave me the comfort to make the right decision.
Once construction started, I was impressed by how quickly everything moved.
Once construction started, I was impressed by how quickly everything moved. Within the first few days, I could already see major progress. The team worked efficiently, professionally, and always seemed to know exactly what needed to happen next.
Everything feels fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully built.
Now that the ADU is complete, I couldn't be happier with the result. Everything feels fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully built. We originally planned for our parents and in-laws to move in, but after seeing the finished product, now I’m thinking maybe I should move into it myself.
I’m very pleased with all the people involved. I have no complaints.
Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations. I’m very pleased with all the people involved. I have no complaints. If someone asked me whether they should build an ADU with Backyard Estates, my answer would be simple:
I would definitely recommend Backyard Estates.
