What began as a simple idea turned into something truly special for our family. My name is Sylvia Boucher, and my son Enrique had been living in an apartment when we started talking about building something in the backyard so he could move closer to home.

It was just a dream, a conversation. I never imagined it would actually become reality.

For me, having my children close means everything. Feliz, feliz de tener an mis hijos cerca. Happy to have my children close by. If I could have all three of them living nearby, I would gladly help them the same way.

From the moment we started the process with Backyard Estates, everything felt different.

Enrique had heard many horror stories about ADU builders taking people’s money and disappearing, so we were cautious at first. But from the moment we started the process with Backyard Estates, everything felt different. They gave us the price upfront and helped us choose the Estate 600, which fit our budget perfectly.

I’d say 99% of everything was handled by Backyard Estates, which allowed me to focus on work without worrying about the project.

Watching the construction happen was exciting. Fue como cerrar los ojos y abrirlos… y ya estaba hecho. It was like blinking... and it was already built. Every time we saw progress we would say, Wow, qué bonito… qué rápido hicieron esta construcción. Wow, how beautiful... how fast this house was built.

Now our family can be close while still having independence. As we like to say in Mexico, estar juntos, pero no revueltos. Together, but not all mixed up.

This home has given us more space, more comfort, and most importantly, more time together as a family.

Definitivamente recomendaría a Backyard Estates. Anyone who wants to live closer to family or create additional income should visit one of their open houses and see what’s possible.
